Mountain Elegance at Silvertip Golf Course in Canmore

There’s something magical about waking up early in Calgary, packing my gear, and heading west into the mountains. On this particular morning, the skies were impossibly clear ,and the sun cast a soft golden light across the Rockies. As I drove toward Canmore for Meghan and Andy’s wedding day, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of gratitude. This capturing of love stories in breathtaking places is exactly why I do what I do.

Meghan and Andy recently moved to Calgary from the United States to begin their married life here, but their journey together started long before. They’ve been together for six years, weathering everything from everyday moments to a stretch of long-distance love. Though both are naturally calm and reserved, I first met them during their engagement session and saw how being in front of the camera made them a little nervous at first. But something beautiful happened on their wedding day — they were completely immersed in each moment, relaxed and joyful. I could tell how deeply they were soaking it all in.

Their celebration took place at Silvertip Golf Course in Canmore, a venue well known for its panoramic mountain views and romantic atmosphere. It’s one of the most popular wedding venues in Canmore, and for good reason — the landscape is stunning from every angle, and the light seems to always fall just right. From the emotional first look to the sunset portraits framed by the Rockies, everything felt effortless.

Much of that ease was thanks to Megan Sawchuk Weddings, the planner behind the day. Megan was a dream to work with — her calm presence and flawless organization kept the entire wedding timeline flowing smoothly, allowing everyone to simply enjoy. As a Canmore wedding photographer, having an experienced planner like her on the team makes a world of difference.

From a photography perspective, what stood out to me most was how present Meghan and Andy were with one another. Every glance, every quiet touch, and every laugh felt genuine. Their love is the kind that’s soft yet steady and I felt honored to capture it.

If you're planning your wedding and searching for an affordable wedding photographer in Calgary who also photographs in the mountains, I’d love to help tell your story. Whether you're getting married in Canmore, Banff, or right here in Calgary, my goal is to document your day with honesty, creativity, and heart.

Silvertip Golf Course is truly a dream location for any couple looking to tie the knot in the heart of the Rockies. As a wedding photographer, I’m always inspired by how the natural beauty of Canmore blends seamlessly with the elegant atmosphere of this venue. It offers the perfect balance of luxury and wild mountain charm — a place where love stories unfold with a breathtaking backdrop. Whether you envision an intimate elopement or a full celebration surrounded by friends and family, Silvertip is one of those rare venues that elevates every moment. I can’t wait to be back again, camera in hand, ready to capture the next beautiful story.
