A Joyful Celebration at Grazers, Calgary Zoo| Mitchell & Nisha’s Intimate Wedding


When couples reach out to me looking for a Calgary wedding photographer, one of the first things I love to ask is, “What kind of atmosphere do you want your day to have?” For Mitchell and Nisha, the answer was clear: something intimate, relaxed, and joyful. They wanted to keep their wedding close to heart — just family, close friends, and a setting that allowed for real moments to shine.

Calgary Zoo. Out of the three main spaces the Zoo offers for weddings, Safari Lodge, Enmax Conservatory, and Grazers. They chose Grazers, and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for their love story. As a Calgary wedding photographer, I’ve photographed many celebrations here, and it never fails to amaze me how beautifully this venue transforms with every couple's vision.


A Balance of Fun and Heart


Mitchell was the quieter of the two, thoughtful and calm, while Nisha’s bubbly personality lit up every moment. You could tell how much they balanced each other. Any nervousness Mitchell might have had at the start of the day quickly faded thanks to Nisha’s contagious laughter and light-hearted energy. From the ceremony to the reception, the atmosphere was intimate and genuine. Their families, some of whom travelled from afar, shared heartfelt speeches, joyful tears, and a whole lot of laughter. Grazers’ open-concept design with large windows and access to the surrounding greenery provided a stunning backdrop for both candid and posed moments.
